Kindle & Hum is a small business run by Katie Cahill in Rockport, Massachusetts. We collect only what we need to make and send your candles, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, phone number, shipping address, what you bought, and any gift note. Your card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store them.
- If you create an account: your name, email, and a password (stored securely by our account provider; we can’t see it), plus your order history.
- If you join our email list: your email address and, if you give it, your first name.
- If you email us: whatever you choose to include.
How we use it
- To fill and ship your order, send receipts and shipping updates, and arrange local pickup.
- To run your account and show your order history.
- To send our newsletter about new candles and gatherings, only if you’ve opted in.
- To answer your questions, and to keep the records we need for taxes and accounting.
Who helps us
We use a few trusted services to run the shop. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- Stripe: payments and receipts
- Supabase: customer accounts, orders, and our email list
- Resend: sending account emails
- Vercel: hosting this website
- Cloudflare: our domain name and email forwarding
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
Cookies and your browser
We use a cookie to keep you signed in to your account, and your browser remembers what’s in your bag. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe’s checkout page may set its own cookies to prevent fraud.
Your choices
- Email list: leave anytime from your account settings or by emailing us.
- Your information: email hello@kindleandhum.com to see, correct, or delete what we have. We keep order records as long as tax law requires, then delete them.
- Your account: ask us and we’ll delete it.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Questions? Email hello@kindleandhum.com.
