Terms of Use

Last updated October 22, 2026

These terms cover shopping at Kindle & Hum and using this website, run by Katie Cahill in Rockport, Massachusetts. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to them.

Handmade products

Every candle and ceramic piece is made by hand, so size, color, and texture vary a little from piece to piece and from the photos. Pure beeswax naturally develops a soft white “bloom” over time; it’s a sign of real beeswax, not a defect.

Orders and prices

  • Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax and shipping are added at checkout where they apply.
  • Your order is confirmed once payment goes through and you receive a receipt.
  • If something you ordered turns out to be unavailable, or a price was clearly listed in error, we’ll contact you and refund that item in full.
  • Shipping, local pickup, and returns are covered by our Shipping & Returns policy.

Candle safety

Please burn candles safely and follow our candle care guidance. In particular:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable.
  • Always burn candles upright in a holder or on a heat-safe dish or plate.
  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn, and stop burning when about ½ inch of wax remains.

We aren’t responsible for damage or injury caused by candles that aren’t used according to these instructions.

Your account

Keep your password private and let us know if you think someone else has used your account. We may close accounts that are used to misuse the site.

Our photos and words

The photos, writing, logo, and designs on this site belong to Kindle & Hum. Please don’t reuse them without permission. Sharing a link or a photo of your own candle is always welcome!

Limits

We do our best to keep the site accurate and running, but it’s provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

The fine print

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If we update them, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Questions? Email hello@kindleandhum.com.
